The Keddie Murders
In the spring of 1981, the bodies of Sue Sharp, 15-year-old John Sharp, and his friend Dana Wingate were found in Cabin 28 at the Keddie Resort in California.
The scene was discovered by 14-year-old Shelia Sharp after she came home from a sleepover next door. Each of the bodies had been bound with electrical and medical tape, as well as bludgeoned with a hammer. John and his mother had both been stabbed repeatedly. It was clear that John’s throat had been slit.
Two of the other Sharp children, Greg and Rick, were asleep in an adjacent bedroom. 12-year-old Tina Sharp couldn’t be found and it was assumed that she had been abducted by the killer.
12-year-old family friend Justin was also in the cabin and was apparently the sole eye witness to the murders, but never told police a clear story about what happened, even in his adult years.
Three years later in 1984, a portion of Tina Sharp’s skull was found, as well as various bones. The rest of her remains were never found. Police had been able to form leads on a few suspects, but none fit the crime.
The Keddie Murders remain unsolved.
